Golden Mayfair Malaysian Restaurant

Wow finally a restaurant that has made my No1 spot for great food and service. So I found this place randomly as I was in the area of Southend and am so glad to have found it. It's not a very big place with only several tables but the welcome from staff was amazing, so friendly and polite even though we came 5 mins before last orders. Menu was good amount of options and all the chicken and lamb halal. Now the best part the food, and all I can say best food I've had in a very long time, everything was super delicious, for starters the chicken satay, was out of this world, best ever homemade peanut sauce. Then on the mains, everything has so much flavour and tastes amazing, the roti canai with chicken and Dhall is a must try, cooked so perfectly. At the end I had to ask the chef to come out so we can thank them for the amazing food and when she came out she was so friendly and joyful, she explained how her family are all street food vendors in Penang Malaysia hence why her food was so good and authentic. Seriously my number spot currently and a must try, prices are so reasonable also.

First time visiting this place. Was a bit skeptical at first but don’t let the outlook fool you. We booked for family dinner on phone and staff is absolutely brilliant. Kind, respectful and pleasant. Food had so many amazing options and it was piping hot , and so tasty and yummy that even my picky child tried everything and loved it. The dumplings were an absolute hit as was the laksa and appetisers. And to top it all off it is halal. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely impeccable! We really loved the food here. Chicken satay, curry laksa, beef rendang, roti. Bold flavours, great quality and fresh produces. I love how aromatic the food was and the spices level. The staff was really kind, warm and welcoming. The service was smooth and efficient. We had a great time and want to try the entire menu now. Thank you!

We visited Golden Mayfair on Saturday 22nd February 2025, this was our first visit and was actually recommended on FB, we booked our table in advance. There is free off street parking nearby, only a 2 minute walk. The staff at Golden ...

Honestly ... the best Hainanese chicken rice I have ever had!! (My grandad was Malaysian) I’m so happy that this place is here. The food has super flavours. The Chennai roti’s are so light & fluffy, the mutton curry so tender and punchy, the laksa is so luxurious & richly spiced to perfection. This is auntys home cooked traditional Malaysian food! The staff are so friendly & passionate about what they do ... I already have my list ready for my next order!

Warm and friendly staff, rich and flavorful curry laksa, the special menu’s Hainanese chicken rice (absolutely fantastic), and the crispy, delicious garlic butter chicken wings—extremely satisfied!

We found this place after a sunny day out at Southend. Lovely authentic dishes and the staff were very friendly. We ordered several dishes to share among 4 people. Took some photos at the start but got too engross eating and forgot to take photos of all the other dishes. The satay chicken with peanut sauce was amazing. Kan Lo Mein brought back the taste of home. Roti canai with curry was extremely tasty. The sambal chilli that came with the nasi lemak had little anchovies and was delicious. Beef rendang was very tender. My husband like the char kway teow as well. All the dishes were lovely and is hard to choose a favourite. We also had milo and milk tea which was just the right sweetness. All in all, a great dinner. Is a lovely place to go for a meal and we will certainly be back
